In the early days of establishing the AF's automated factory on this distant world, the engineers who came before you left behind scattered blueprints and half-finished relay stations. The Conveyor Splitter design was among the most ubiquitous components found in those ruins — small, sturdy, and requiring no power cell to operate. It was clearly a workhorse part, designed to be deployed in quantities by the hundreds so that a single extraction line could feed an entire district of processors.

The dust had barely settled on the first smelter when you realized the problem: you needed iron plates for the generator AND for the next tier of buildables, but you only had one smelter running. You stood in the amber glow of the alien dusk, the conveyor belt humming its low mechanical lullaby, and watched the iron chunks pile up at the dead-end of the line.
You pulled up the build menu. Tier 1. No research. No power. Just a small grey box with one socket on the back and two on the front.
